குறள் விளக்கம்

பற்பல உலகங்களும், அவற்றிலுள்ள அனைத்து உயிர்களும், ஓங்காரம் எனப்படும் பிரணவ ஒலியிலிருந்து தோன்றி, இயங்கி, மறைகின்றன.

அத்தகைய சக்தி வாய்ந்த ஆதார ஒலியிலிருந்து பல்வேறு ஒலிகள் தோன்றின. ஒவ்வொரு ஒலிக்கும் ஒரு வடிவமும் உள்ளது. படைப்பின் நுணுக்கமான இத்தன்மையை உணர்ந்த ஞானிகள், ஒலிகளை முறைப்படி பயன்படுத்துவதன் மூலமாக, படைத்தவனை நாதப்பிரம்மமாக (உயிர்மெய்) அறிந்து, முக்தி எய்துவதற்காக மந்திர யோகம் மற்றும் நாத யோகம் போன்ற வழிமுறைகளை வகுத்துள்ளனர்.

இந்த ஒலி-உரு இசைவு [அ] இணைப்பின் தன்மையை உணராமல், ஒருவர் தான் ஓதக்கூடிய மந்திரங்களுக்கு உரிய குறிப்பிட்ட இறை வடிவத்தின் மீது மட்டும் பற்றுக்கொண்டிருந்தால், தினசரி அவர் முறைப்படி செய்யக்கூடிய ஜெபம் [அ] மந்திர உச்சாடனத்தால் மட்டுமே அவர் வீடுபேறு அடைய வாய்ப்பில்லை.

The many worlds in the cosmos and all the beings in them arise out of, exist and diminish into the fundamental sound of creation AUM, aka PraNava.

A variety of sounds arose from this basic nhAdha (sound). Each sound has a form associated with it. The realised beings who became aware of this intricate connection between the sound and form in existence, crafted methods / techniques such as NhAdha yOga and Manthra yOga, to realise the divine as NhAdha Brahmam and attain Mukthi (ultimate liberation from the repetitive birth-death lifecycle).

Those seekers who get attached to a particular form of divine, as and when they chant the mantra associated with that form – even if they do it diligently – without becoming aware of the unison or coherence between sound and form, won’t be able to attain liberation, by merely doing japA (repetitive chanting of Mantra) daily.

ஓம் சரவணபவ ~ ஞானமே வடிவான ஸ்கந்த குருநாதனின் மூல மந்திரமாகிய ஷடாட்சரம் (ஆறெழுத்து)

ஓம் நமசிவாய ~ ஆதியோகி ஈசனின் மூல மந்திரமாகிய பஞ்சாட்சரம் (ஐந்தெழுத்து)

ஓம் நமோ நாராயணாய ~ அனைத்து உயிர்களையும் காத்தருளும் அனந்தசயனன் திருமாலின் மூல மந்திரமாகிய அஷ்டாட்சரம் (எட்டெழுத்து)

இவ்வகையான ஓதி ஜெபிக்கும் மந்திரங்கள் அனைத்திற்கும் அடிநாதமாக விளங்குவது ஓம்காரம் என்ற ஒலி. படைப்பிற்கு ஆதாரமான ஓங்காரமே, கேளாஒலி* என்ற அநஹத நாதமாக படைப்பிலுள்ள உயிர்களுக்குள்ளும் ஓசையின்றி ஒலித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றது.

*அநஹத நாதம் எனப்படும் கேளாஒலியைப் புறச் செவியால் கேட்க இயலாது. யோகப் பயிற்சியைத் தொடர்ந்து செய்து வரும் சாதகர், ஒரு நிலையில் அவ்வாதார ஒலியை அகத்தினுள் உணர்ந்தறிவர்.

AUM NamO NhArAyaNAya ~ Lord MahAVishNu’s moola mantra with 8 syllables

All such sacred moola mantras are used for japA (repetitive chanting, usually with the aid of a japa mala) by seekers.

AUM or OM, the basic sound of creation, is the underlying nhAda (sound) of all such mantras. AUM is also the soundless sound aka Anahata nhAda that’s reverberating within all beings in creation.

*This soundless sound aka Anahata nhAda obviously can’t be heard with one’s ears. Seekers who perform the yogic practices regularly, will experience this sound as a vibration within themselves, at some point.

நாதங்கேளார் நான்விடா தார்.

விளக்கம்

வேதம் முதலிய மந்திரங்களை முறையாக ஓதி, பலவிதமான விரதங்களிருந்து, பற்பல திருத்தலங்களுக்குச் சென்று அங்குள்ள இறைவனைத் தொழுதாலும்கூட, நான் என்ற – உடல் மற்றும் மனத்தின் கூட்டணி உருவாக்கிய அடையாளமாகிய – ஆணவத்தை ஒருவர் முற்றிலுமாக விட்டு ஒழிக்காதவரையில், ஓம் எனும் பிரணவ நாதத்தை* அவர்கள் தம்முள்ளே கேட்டுணர வாய்ப்பில்லை.

*அநஹத நாதம் எனும் இந்த ஒலியற்ற ஒலி, படைப்பிலுள்ள அனைத்து உயிர்களுக்குள்ளும் இடைவிடாது ஒலித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றது. இதனை அனுபவபூர்வமாக உணர்ந்த பெரியோர், படைத்தவனது ஓம்கார அதிர்வுடன் ஒத்திசைவு கண்டு பேரானந்தத்தில் திளைப்பர்.

Explanation

Even though one may diligently chant mantras such as the Vedas regularly, undertake austerities such as viratham and worship the divine by visiting many holy spaces, one won’t still experience the primordial sound of AUM* (praNava) within oneself, as long as one doesn’t let go of the ego (individual identity crafted by the coalition of body and mind).

*The Anahata nhaada or soundless sound is actively reverberating within all living beings in existence. Those who have experienced this are in sync with the reverberation of the Creator and attain the eternal state of bliss.
